Joy

I took this photo when I was visiting my dad last time in Utah. In Utah, all things are coal related. This was a piece of equipment in a coal mine equipment display. I loved that the manufacturer was Joy.

I think joy is something left out of many people's day. So many (especially these days) think they have no joy in their life whatsoever. I would challenge any one of them. Let me walk through your day with you and I guarantee that I can find joy. That doesn't mean that all in your life is good, but there will be something to be joyful about.

Knowing what I know about finding the tiniest rays of light in life despite all difficulty, knowing that makes it difficult for me to be around completely negative people. I start by pointing out the joy to them. But they don't want to see it. They refuse to acknowledge it. So, I must distance myself. I don't want my joy-sight to be blinded by their negativity.

You know... when that happens, and I separate myself from people like that... those people get very angry. They call names. They slander. They want their poisonous outlook to spread and it can't if we all don't remain concerned and close. Oh, they lash out... but I don't care. I'm partitioned off from them. I can't be touched.

I hope that you all look extra hard today to find the joy. You will find it. And when you do, share a ray of your sunshine with others.

Joy is in each and every day! I only have to look to my children to see it. The look on my boys face when he finds his train, or pushes a button and the trucks' siren goes off. Or my daughter when she finishes a project be it knitting, painting or simply coloring with her brother. I love watching them grow and discover and SMILE!

Now that's joy...

So very true, Sis! It's so easy to go through life with the blinders on. Living each day as a routine, and never even trying to look past the every day monotony to see what could await. There are so many paths undiscovered and ignored due to the blindness. I wish there was a way to lift the fog for each and everyone of us, but alas... all we can do is strip our own blinders and find the good that surrounds us. Hopefully, if we can do that, it will spread to the other people that we touch daily in our lives.

*hugs*

Definitely joy! Sometimes my joy gets crushed when I share - people say "oh she's way to happy" and my response inside is "boo, haters :("

or - maybe she's on something. lol for the record, I've not done illegal drugs - I'm high on life as it is. And as "high on life I can get, means I'm susceptible to the lowest lows too - it's called "the balance".

It can deiinitely be rough at times, but truth be told, I like who I am, and I'm sorry that people don't always "get it" or me. Or think I can truly be happy or up like I am. Maybe that's cause it's just me and the DH (bless his heart) when I am down who see it.

Thanks for this post(and the others!) Robyn.

This is cheap therapy for me ;) M-wah! ~Dawn

Joy for me is definitely looking at my children. Even though they are older now and manage to cause me worry and anxiety, I still can't believe they're mine and that I created them. The miracle of life is such an amazing thing!!

Great post Robyn. My joy yesterday was eating the most fabulous brownie and not thinking about the calories. I savored all of it's delights and sat there and smiled.

Joy for me is working everyday with my kids. Sometimes they drive me nuts, but mostly they keep me sane and young :). I wouldn't trade it for the world!

ALthough I don't do as much as I would like, I too have been posting posts about things that give me joy! It's great to do, because it not only makes me try to put my finger on WHY something gives me joy, it helps me notice these moments in my life - and perhaps sharing it with someone else will bring THEM joy!
