Being Pulled

I'm being pulled in several directions. Not in a bad way. I'm finding so many paths wide open to me and I want to claim them all! At this point, I'm discovering ways to combine them into one large road for me to take.

Yesterday I received a call from a friend. Her father had passed away over the weekend with her whispering in his ear and her hand on his heart. "My Dad MADE me to do that" she told me. What an amazing experience. I've sat vigil, never with my own parent, but I've sat vigil with people whose family had left them in my care. Being there, making that time all about that person... that is really special. Helping through grief... one of the roads.

Empowering, helping, aiding creative types, that's another.

Teaching, another... see how easily these could be combined?

Writing... perhaps that's the blanket over it all. Above all else I must write. I must write about my real world and my experiences. I'll never be a writer who just sequesters herself off...

Life is really amazing. What's it drawing you to do?

Inspired

I ran across this post by Kelly Rae Roberts earlier in the week and I've been absolutely inspired. Throughout the week, I've been compiling my own letter in my mind, and I am just about ready to write it.

I have a lot of intentions that I've talked to friends about. A life that I am working towards. Over the years, I've developed kind of a BS filter... maybe that's not the right word for it. Something that sends up red flags when I'm in toxic situation and I don't want that BS in my life. Those red flags get quite annoying when they pop up day after day, til I finally have to just get myself OUT of that situation.

So, my life is still a work in progress... I'm sure it always will be. But one of my major hopes is that the red flags can stop popping up so regularly.

I have decided that my Artist Empowerment Course will begin on July 5. I will post all the details in the next week or so.

What inspires you to make change? How are you creating the life you want?

My Goals

Amazing things began happening when I began saying yes. I have said yes to things I had never dreamed possible. Things I would have never dared ask for. I'm now the journal making for Connie's Art Journal Love Letters, I am working on an online class, and i am NOTICING the amazing things as they come to me.

I have some goals, and these may change as life happens (like if something amazing like the journal making comes along again), but I'd like to share them with you. I have 4 main goals:

1. To seek out more wholesale orders for my journals.
2. To have my online class launched in about a month.
3. To approach Bed and Breakfasts about displaying my photography.
4. To go down to 4 days a week at work.

I've stated them now. Those are my goals. I think I've come a little bit closer to attaining them just by stating them here. Want to join me by stating your goals?

Is It Monday Already?

I had a strange weekend for me. Spent the night at a friend's house on Saturday night. Meaning we stayed up way too late, drank too much, and didn't get enough sleep. We did, however, have a great time. The boys enjoyed shooting, and playing on their wii.

It very effectively made my weekend shorter though. I'm a total home body and I kind of feel robbed. Like I've lost some time in my home. I know. Weird! But, already, it's Monday again. Monday of Spring Break. It will be a very full week.

But first, to get through today, then try to get my sleep schedule back on track tonight.

I hope that amazingly wonderful adventures find you this week.

Unsettled

I have been doing a lot of thinking lately. About priorities, about life in general. I wish it were, but my thinking's not done. It's a time of unrest for me, and of being mentally/emotionally unsettled. Answers are being fed to me slowly as I meditate, and as I try to go through my day mindfully. I will get there. It's quite a journey, though.

Throughout all of this, my head is held high. I know that I will come out exactly where I need to be. I just need to apply patience (that's quite a lesson in itself).

This all seems very cryptic, doesn't it? I apologize for that. Sometimes struggles are like that. You can let others know you are struggling, but the details are left for self to work out.

I will continue to move forward, no matter how slowly. And I will continue to share all that I am able with you. That is my pledge. Life is amazing, and wonderful things are discovered daily. I hope that you all find that to be true!

Be well, my friends... be well.

Reclaiming my Life

So. I mainly marketed yesterday while I was at work. I marketed like a mad woman, but it's time that I would have been sitting there bored. I also edited a lovely rainbow photo and listed it. Today I hope to do the same... along with some journaling and reading the manual for my new camera.

Sometimes, I find, that I have to remind myself that life is good. Do you know what I mean? It's not just blatantly, in your face amazing. But life is good. Life is exactly what I make of it, and sometimes it's difficult to see through the muck of being exhausted from too many hours, or frustrated due to housework, or whatever is trying to rain on my parade at the time.

I often forget that *I* am the one in the driver's seat here. And I am the one, the only one, who chooses my reaction to those things around me. Yes, sometimes others do have the power to influence my feelings, but when it comes down to it, I am the one in control. Must. remember.

So... several t0-do's are stacking up. Simplify my life... reclaim my life... ultimately, they all go together, eh? I just need to remember what a magical ride this thing called life is.

Home Again

I am really tired today. I made great time on my trip yesterday, but it's still such a long drive.

While on my drive yesterday, my blackberry blinked that I had a message... I looked and I had sold a journal!!! How awesome is that?? I'm mailing it off this morning!

There is no real 'routine' in my life during the summer. Well, I will have my mornings to blog and drink my coffee... and I'll have work. But every other morsel of time seems to be accounted for. That's ok... just need to adjust and accept.

Unfortunately, when a million things are going on around me, I miss a LOT of it. Luckily my camera is my constant companion, and that will help to capture more of it!
