Finding the Flow

So, last week I thought I had a head cold. Now I know it's allergies. The weather has been so odd that I never expected allergies to be hitting this late. I thought I had escaped them this year, somehow. So now, I'm using my Flonase, my allergy meds, downing local honey... and trying to find the flow.

I was basically unplugged this weekend, popping online here and there to get something done, but not lingering. Saturday was spent running errands and going out with friends. Yesterday I completed all but one finishing touch for a custom order and got another journal almost completed as well. I had not made journals for awhile and that felt good!

This evening I will be finishing both journals and listing. Hopefully the evening will also include more creativity. And the day will include the allergies easing up.

A fasting... of sorts

Last night I packed up all my crafting supplies. They won't make their way out again until Monday. I'm going to have a full house and a crazy busy weekend, so everything needed to be put away. I have not been real committed to crafting lately, I just have not felt motivated. So, I'm very mindful about the fact right now that I have put everything away. I thought about each item as I put it in the boxes, i honored each thing. And now, I can not be near it for several days. I wasn't appreciative of it this week, but with it gone, I will miss it like mad.

I will fast from crafting, and then I'm pretty sure that I will dive in and be very productive. Next Tuesday I will let you know!

What do you do to create the desire again?

Hidden paths, Locked doors

I find so often in life that there are hidden passages. Little doors, that as soon as I figure out a code, or find a key, I can unlock it and what I find beyond is amazing. Marketing is like that. I love those 'a-ha' moments when I have a thought and think 'oh yeah, I should do this'! I have become much better at thinking outside the box and looking for the hidden doors.

Of course, it doesn't only happen with marketing. I go out to take photos, and I take that path less traveled, and get the most awesome photos! In any kind of creativity, you have to strive to think outside that box. Because, really, it's all been done before. You just have to find a way to make it YOURS.

I'm still looking for those unknown passages, and digging into my soul for the keys. And while I do so, guess what? I am making the most awesome discoveries about myself. For instance, I didn't really know how much stick-to-it-iveness I really contained. I'm learning that I'm not a quitter. I am also learning that the more I discover, the more I want to share.

I know I've been beating this drum a lot, but 2010 will be amazing. I have a feeling that I'm just barely brushing the surface of my soul so far...

Photo Editing Fun

I have been having some fun with photo editing this weekend. Several new prints (including the one above) will be listed in my shop today.

I know me pretty well. And I knew that what I needed the most was to be creative over the weekend. I made and listed 2 new journals, took some amazing photos of them, and then went on to the photo editing. I only broke one toe in the process! So, it was a good weekend!

I will be starting on The Artist's Way this coming week with a few online friends. I am looking forward to that more than you could ever know! Strange time to be doing it, right before the holidays, perhaps... but perhaps it's the perfect time.

So much going on

I have roughly a million things going on in my life and none of them are reflected in my Etsy shop. I have my first online "home" party coming up (if you would like to host a party and earn free product, let me know), I have been putting finishing touches on and organizing my journals, I have been marketing like a mad woman. I have not been taking very many photos, but I hope to change that soon. I also hope to edit and list some photos today.

Next week will be a big creating week for me. This weekend I will be stocking up on supplies, and by Sunday I will be creating lots of new. What to make, what to make... definitely some art journals, as I am now down to only one in my shop. And hopefully some new motivational prints/products.

I hope that your creativity is taking flight! Mine... well, it's getting there :-)
