Lessons

Yesterday I ached. Muscles that I never knew I had hurt. Why? Because we got a playstation Move game that had sword fighting in it and I had gotten quite a workout the day before ;-). It is seriously addictive, and it's a LOT of physical work. Two very good things, eh?

But I was sore. It hurt to move. It affected my mood. I felt a bit defeated, actually, throughout the day, moving around like an old lady. I wasn't as upbeat and positive as I usually am. My physical affected my emotional. What an eye opener that was.

I am working with someone who has chronic pain. Mine was a very small window, but I can understand a bit more about how she might be affected.

I did two things yesterday that were out of character. One, I bought myself a small gift. Something that I had been wanting for years, but the last time I went to buy, the shop was closed. I happened upon the new shop yesterday and made the purchase. The other thing I did. Despite my aching, I made myself play that game again. I know the muscle aches were due to a good workout, so I did it again. And I'll do it tonight as well.

I learn lessons every single day. I don't know how to NOT.

Working through

Last Friday, I read several things about Dad that brought tears to my eyes. My blog posts to him. I heard several stories that brought tears to my eyes. I ached to have him back in my life.

Looking back now, I realize that I was pms-ing on Friday. I was vulnerable and emotional.

Most of the time now, I am not in tears. I am not the same as I was before-- that's been pointed out to me many times... but I'm not crying all the time. That's a good step, yeah? For now, though, I think that if I'm pms'ing, or tired, or emotional, the tears are going to flow and I'm going to miss Dad like mad.

I have other times. Times when I'm taking big steps, or assessing them before leaping. And I want my Dad then. My friends keep telling me I have direct connect, and I try... but it's not clicking for me yet. I will get there.

Yesterday, the treadmill went ok. The bicycle went even better. Still moving forward-- in all areas.

Being Inspired

I took this photo in Utah the last time I was visiting my dad. I just went through my 'Utah Pictures' file and was so inspired all over again. Sunday I am hoping to get some photo time in, though it may be the weekend after. Soon though.

I did go take photos at Portland State University last Sunday. Such a gorgeous area down there, both on the campus, and the area surrounding. So look for some more photos in my shop soon!

I have a lovely bunch of friends that I've met on Etsy, and I've been encouraged to list some sepia-toned photos. Today I hope to tweak some angel photos and list them. I'm slowly getting back in the groove, where I am working forward.
Yesterday, I had a terrible day. Very emotional. All day long at work, I fought back tears. I was just so sad. Many reasons, none of them pressing or new. It was really unusual for me. I didn't market, didn't promote. I almost drove to somewhere to go have a good cry after work. I do know that sometimes that torrential sort of sobbing can be cleansing. But I left work and went home. And I put on a happy face and spent the evening with my boys. They always soothe my soul. Hopefully today will be a better day, emotionally.
Keep an eye out in my shop today for some sepia-tone angel photos. And if you see them, please do give an opinion! Dipping my toes in the water here, and every little bit of input helps! Also, I listed my fairy print yesterday with 'sepia' as one of the alternate photos, so be sure to look at that as well!
I hope today brings everything you need!
